Objectives

Conduct
awareness campaigns in a phased manner, enabling the participation of the local
community.
- To
hold
survey in all the slums/wards to ascertain the whereabouts of children,
especially
those missing and maintain their database.
- Rescue
Operations for children in need of care and protection.

Reaching
out to all Out of school children in the city of Guwahati. Mainstream them back
into
formal schools and follow them up through tuition classes.
- Form
Child
Protection Committees in all the wards of Guwahti for protection and promotion
of
rights of children.

Capacity
Building program for project staff cluster wise and Project core team to develop
the
database of Children and share it with the National Level Don Bosco Forum for
Young
at Risk.

Inculcate
“Child Rights Culture” among children through participation in Children
Parliaments.
- To
initiate ‘Guwahati Forum for Child Rights’ [GFCR] with all the civil society
groups
to create an environment of child safety in the city of Guwahati.
The Key Features
-
Tuition
classes: are held for all mainstreamed children of CFG, studying in class 1-5,
for 3
hours 5 days a week.

Concept of
Peer teaching: The concept is based on the unique idea: “To teach is to learn
twice”
as it definitely enhances learning intakes of both the parties. 74 children
across
36 CFG Centers are involved in Peer Teaching under the supervision of the Social
Educators.
- ASER:
Annual Status of Education Report is a unique concept taken up by the CFG
Centers.
828 CFG children have been assessed for ASER in 2022 for improving their
Fundamental
Literacy and Numeracy (FLN)
- MIS:
The
Database is maintained and updated from time to time for all CFG Children
(2561).

Children
Parliament: CFG has the unique process of democratically electing Children
Parliament members who work as Ministers under the Prime Minister-taking care of
different ministries such as Education, Information, Finance, Cultural, and
Cleanliness etc. They conduct CP Meetings 2 times a month.
- Center
Management Committees: Every CFG Center has a Center Management Committee which
is
responsible for child rights protection in the respective areas. The committees
include community people, school teachers of the area, health workers, and club
members of the area along with prominent person of the particular locality.
- The
Rescue
Wing: of CFG has identified 938 Children in distress. 261 children under various
vulnerable situations have been rescued and restored so far.
- Child
Protection Committees: One step ahead of Center Management Committee is the
formation of Child Protection Committees. CFG is now moving towards upgrading
CMCs
to CPCs involving the duty bearers. It is a community based monitoring system in
creating safety net for our children in the grass-root level.
- MoU
with 7
Colleges and Universities were signed in 2021 for mobilization of Volunteers for
the
purpose of taking up Tuition classes for CFG children.
